To be honest i can totally see Valmont actually liking Drayven but their personality just force them to mess with him unless he is on real troubles or danger, that is why here we see them nervous and submissive because he is worried to death for him.

Even though Valmont seems like an irredeemable sort, I honestly believe him that he wants to help Drayven (yes out of some self serving motive but...)
Man, I feel like Drayven sometimes... having to put up with so much stuff and little to do anything about it.
